	All About the Carver Welcome to my site. My handle is Grandpacarver, but my real name is John Schilling. I have been carving for several years, more regularly since retiring to Christmas Lake Village a few years back. Before I began to focus primarily on Santas, I carved mainly wildlife: duck canes, walking sticks, and paperweights, as well as decoys and other figures. My carving is basically self-taught, but I enjoy attending wood carving workshops when I get the chance.
